This fact sheet describes diabetes prevalence among American Indian and Alaska Native populations, including risk factors and access to care barriers in California, the state with the largest number of AIANs. The authors also recommend key steps to ensure comprehensive and culturally appropriate interventions in affected communities.
This fact sheet uses data from the 2009 California Health Interview Survey (CHIS).
