Malia Maglasang is a junior analyst for the Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (NHPI) Data Policy Lab at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research (CHPR). Maglasang contributes to the NHPI social drivers of health (SDOH) data platform development at the NHPI Lab. Her responsibilities include finding appropriate data sources, organizing and cleaning data, and creating data visualizations.

Prior to the NHPI Data Policy Lab, Maglasang interned as an operations specialist for an NHPI-based non-profit organization, Kaio Foundation, through California State University, Dominguez Hills’ Workforce Integration Network (CSUDH-WIN) program. She assisted in closing the digital divide between the NHPI population and any technological barriers. She also previously worked as a patient coordinator/administrator at a health office, bridging the communication gap between patients and health care providers.

Maglasang is set to graduate magna cum laude from California State University, Dominguez Hills with a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Science with a community health concentration this year.
