Cevadne Lee, MPH, is an affiliate at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research. She is also the health and policy director at the Orange County Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance, Inc. (OCAPICA). At OCAPICA, Lee manages a diverse team of staff working on health disparities, cancer prevention, community health workers, caregivers, chronic disease, and other health issues. In addition, Lee’s work at OCAPICA involves civic engagement activities, GOTV efforts, community and legislative education, coalition development and support, and partnership capacity building.
Before joining OCAPICA, Lee was the founding director for the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement at the UC Irvine Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center with a dual appointment as research manager in the Department of Health, Society, and Behavior at the Joe C. Wen School of Population and Public Health. She was the principal investigator of a DHHS OMH award to understand the benefits of data equity policies for Asian American and Pacific Islander communities in California. Her research has focused on understanding health policies and data inequities and examining if interventions are optimally located to achieve health equity for Pacific Islanders and Asian Americans.
Lee has a M.P.H. from Claremont Graduate University and a bachelor of arts in international studies with a minor in epidemiology and public health from UC Irvine.
