Alek Sripipatana, PhD

Director, Data and Evaluation, Office of Quality Improvement, Bureau of Primary Health Care, Health Resources and Services Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

Alek Sripipatana, PhD, serves as the director for the data and evaluation unit at the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Bureau of Primary Health Care in the Office of Quality Improvement. His unit oversees the Bureau’s primary data collection strategies on all HRSA-supported health centers across the country, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the U.S. Affiliated Pacific Islands. Data and evaluation’s responsibilities also include the analyses, dissemination, and modernization of these data.  

Sripipatana was recognized as the 2023 Government Executive of the Year by Service to the Citizen for his work aligning HRSA data reporting standards to improve data quality and reduce reporting burden, incentivizing EHR adoption across the health center program, and advancing data modernization efforts to improve patient care quality, coordination and safety. 

He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on the intersections of care delivery in the health care safety net, patient satisfaction, and health equity. 

Sripipatana earned his PhD from the UCLA School of Public Health, is a proud alumnus of the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, and a former W. K. Kellogg Fellow in Health Policy Research.
